Watch the ECOLIBRIUM Summer 2023 Showcase
The ECOLIBRIUM Summer 2023 Showcase on August 18th, presented by our interns from the DYCD Summer Youth Employment Program, was a multi-institution collaboration welcoming students from the Cooper Union School of Engineering, St. Johns University, Scholars Academy High School, and LaGuardia High School.
The final presentations include:
- The IoT/Tech Team: Created environmental sensors that will measure indoor and outdoor air quality.
- The Media Team: Documented the progress and producing short video clips and social media posts.
- The Environment & Data Team: Worked on an emissions inventory, incorporating existing public data and past work of previous teams, while engaging in guided self-learning to improve coding skills and data visualizations.
We are proud of these young creators, makers and designers who are leading the path for climate jobs, a greener economy and a more equitable future!
The Road to ZERO EMISSIONS Starts with ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Energy waste costs you money and increases pollution.
These harmful emissions accelerate climate change and harm our health,
increasing energy burdens and healthcare costs.
Identify
indoor & outdoor toxins and hazards in our home and neighborhood.
Understand
building infrastructure, the geological and natural environment ecosystems, and built green spaces.
Measure
indoor & outdoor microclimates using sensors, thermography, time-lapse photography, and social surveys.
Value
energy savings, lower emissions, improved health, and economic opportunities.
Help us work with you to reduce energy waste by identifying the thousands of energy wasting appliances in the Loisaida community
so we can replace them all at once.
While you’re at it, please let us know if your building uses fossil fuels for heat and hot water. Your building’s oil or gas burning boiler emits harmful pollutants that harm your health and the climate!
